T-Shirt Printing
During the session students will firstly develop a range of designs, which they then cut out into stencils. The stencils are then used with the silk screens to print directly onto the tshirt. Once the ink is dry, students will then heat press the tshirt to fix the design and take their creations home. There is also the option to print designs onto bags, tea towels and fabrics. This workshop is suitable for all ages.
Printing
Students will create a design, which is then made into a stencil and hand printed using silk screens onto a variety of materials. They will explore their design ideas by using repetition of images, layering and composition. In these sessions we can make posters, greetings cards, postcards, abstract art pieces, flags, wrapping paper, bags, banners, fabric murals and print montages. This workshop is suitable for all ages.
Fashion Design & Print
In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to work alongside professionals already established in the fashion and creative sector. There will be a range of second hand garments and accessories for you to easily customise into your own designs.
Our experts will give demonstrations of basic techniques to allow you to transform a dreary old dress into glamorous garment. You will also be able to hand print your own fabrics and add printed details to your existing garments to give them that extra individuality, and design and print your own tshirts using hand cut stencils and silk screens.
This project can range from a basic half-day session to a longer term project where we can develop mood boards, fashion photography shoots and fashion shows to give the students opportunities to showcase their achievements. This workshop is recommended for secondary school upwards and can also be incorporated as part of a college study programme or enterprise scheme.
Comic Life
Design your own comic using the Comic Life application on Apple Mac laptops. Invent your own characters and storyline to bring your imaginary world to life. Using the photo booth facility on the Mac Book you will be able to feature yourself as a character in your comic strip. Students can choose from a variety styles and add their own imagery and text. You can also add your own drawings and characters into your designs. This application can be used purely to make comics or it can be used in conjunction with storyboarding for films or projects. This workshop is suitable for all ages.
Brush Bots
Brush bots are tiny robots constructed from the head of a toothbrush, a pager motor and a battery. Once they are put together, they speed along, randomly changing pace and direction. In this workshop, students will construct several brush bots and proceed to use this robot as a tool for experimental artwork. You will have the opportunity to make abstract paintings by allowing the brush bots to travel through paint and leave their mark as they go. Setting off lots of brush bots simultaneously gives a brilliant effect! Taking long exposure photographs and videoing this process also gives interesting results. This experimental style demonstrates a link between creativity and technology. This workshop is recommended for secondary school upwards.
Young Enterprise
The Young Enterprise Scheme is an excellent method to encourage young people to get hands on experience of running their own business. One69a workshop facilitators are currently working in the fashion and creative sector and can offer an invaluable insight into their skill and experience post education; they can also provide guidance and advice to young people who are considering their future. We can offer a range of activities to support a Young Enterprise Scheme, which demonstrates how we translate our creative skills into business. We also have the additional benefit of equipment and space required to facilitate these projects. If this is something you maybe interested in, please contact us to discuss further.
